VENAKKI’s distilling journey began in Portugal in 2012. An exploration of grain, fermentation and distillation grew into a sustained study of wood, climate and maturation.
WOODWORK places Rare Portuguese Casks at the center of that work. The wines and spirits previously held by the wood, the character of the spirit and the conditions of maturation all contribute to the resulting composition.

WOODWORK brings the individuality of single casks into focus. Selection and maturation are treated as acts of composition, with each expression considered on its own character.
The first release combined an initial period in ex-bourbon casks with extended maturation in Rare Portuguese Casks. Its story is one of sustained development through wood and time.
The Portuguese
The discipline of blending.
Launched in 2024, THE PORTUGUESE is an annual vintage release of small-batch blended whisky with a high malt content. Its composition brings together Douro STR, Moscatel wine and Madeira wine casks, with American and French oak.
MOONSHINE LIMITED and VENAKKI MIXOLOGY express further aspects of the distillery’s work, from grain spirit to rice-distilled vodka and grape-distilled gin.
